Overview
Before initiating the reactor startup sequence, it is imperative to complete the Pre-Startup Checklist. The checklist ensures all critical systems are within operational parameters and prevents damage or hazardous events during startup.
Location: The checklist is located on the table beside the control computer. Operators must manually confirm each step is completed—order of completion is flexible.
Recommendation: Review the Control Room Overview for familiarity with systems before beginning.

Pre-Startup Checklist
1. Condenser Coolant Pumps
- Condenser Coolant Pump A1 – Enabled
- Condenser Coolant Pump A2 – Enabled
- A1 Speed – 2
- A2 Speed – 2
2. Turbine Configuration
- Turbine A-B Bleed Valve – Open
- Turbine A Bypass Valve – Enabled
- Turbine A Bypass – 100% (adjust knob)
3. Deaerator A Configuration
- A-B Bleed Valve – Closed
- Relief Valve – 50%
- Steam Inlet Valve – 25%
4. Main Circulation Pumps
- Pump A1 Speed – 2
- Pump A2 Speed – 2
5. Reactor Isolation Valves
- Inlet 1 & 2 – Open
- Outlet 1 & 2 – Open
6. ECCS Injection Tanks
- Pressure – ≥ 1500 PSI (toggle Nitrogen valve to fill)
7. Hotwell Control
- Automatic Level – 35 (numpad + grey button)
- Limiter Valve – Enabled
8. Electrical Panel
- Breaker 18M-G1 – On
- Breaker 64B-M – On (key in orange box near Control Room entrance)
- Automatic G1 Offload – Disabled
- G1<64A Offload System – Primed
9. Feed Limiter Valve
- Valve – Enabled (next to feedwater pumps)
